Demographic Information and Controls

This section displays and allows the user to edit the demographic information for the chart. Please see the Demographic Information and Controls section for detailed information.

DRG Analysis / Manual Recalculate

2. DRG Analysis / Manual Recalculate
The DRG analysis tool identifies DRGs that often have errors associated with their coding and displays a window with auditing advice.
The Manual Recalculate button forces the chart to be resubmitted to TruCode. Any DRG or reimbursement changes will auto-update on the screen.

DRG Information

3. DRG Information
This section displays the current DRG and reimbursement amount as well as the original DRG and reimbursement values in italics if they have changed due to edits on the chart.

PDX Analysis

4. PDX Analysis
Click the scales to display a window of other possible DRGs and reimbursements if the non PDX DX's are resequences as PDX.

Discharge DIsposition Display

5. Discharge DIsposition Display
This section displays the current discharge disposition as well as the original discharge disposition in italics if it has been changed by the auditor. The auditor can also indicate that a query has been created by clicking on the question mark symbol.

Diagnosis Controls

6. Diagnosis Controls
This section allows the auditor to review, edit, create, delete, or resequence diagnoses for the chart. The diagnosis section will intelligently determine what action the auditor has performed on the code and assign the most appropriate reason to the code. Changes to the code, the POA status, the sequence, or the query state will automatically request a recalculation of the DRG from TruCode and display these changes on the chart immediately. Procedure Controls

This section allows the auditor to review, edit, create, delete, or resequence procedures for the chart. The procedure section will intelligently determine what action the auditor has performed on the code and assign the most appropriate reason to the code. Please see the Procedure Control section for more detailed information.

This section allows the auditor to review, edit, or create remittance advice for the chart.

Reimbursement Variance Display

9. Reimbursement Variance Display
This section displays the reimbursement variances that all changes to the original state of the chart have made.
There are 10 different variance "buckets" that are displayed in this section:
  • Coding Variance
  • PRX Soft Code Variance
  • PRX Hard Code Variance
  • Billing Variance
  • Discharge Disposition Variance
  • Query Variance
  • RAC Variance
  • Case Management Variance
  • MAC Error Variance
  • Denial Variance

Coder Accuracy and Error Display

This section breaks down the number of errors in the chart and calculates the overall coder accuracy.
Please note, hard CPT PRX errors do not count against the coder accuracy.
