To change a diagnosis, the auditor simply needs to type the new diagnosis number over top of the existing diagnosis that needs to be changed. This action calls out to TruCode to request the code description and verify that it is a valid code.
Shown below is a 428.0 that has been changed to a 276.51. Note that new description is automatically filled in and the code has been formatted properly. The change is noted by the original code being shown in italics to the left of the new code as well as having the new code underlined in red, and a "Incorrect code" narrative shown on the line.
