Adding a Diagnosis or Procedure is as easy as typing the code into the next available code field. Given the following:
if the auditor wanted to add a code of 428.0, she would simply type 4280 into the empty code field and press the Tab key. This action calls out to TruCode to request the code description and verify that it is a valid code.
Once this call is complete, the description is automatically filled in, the code is formatted properly, and the line item is noted as being an omitted code.
Finally, the chart is analyzed and any DRG or reimbursement changes are automatically updated on the chart.
